Mr. Humphrey Hawksley
Humphrey Hawksley is an author, foreign correspondent and commentator on world affairs. His new book, Asian Waters: The Struggle Over the Indo-Pacific and the Challenge to American Power explores the future of Asia amid growing rivalry between China and the United States. His earlier 1997 best-selling Dragon Strike:The Millennium War described a scenario of Indo-Pacific conflict which began with a Chinese attack on South China Sea islands. As a BBC World Affairs Correspondent and former Beijing Bureau Chief, Humphrey has covered Asia for more than thirty years, reporting often from Vietnam. His work has been widely reviewed and praised by key global figures. He has presented many BBC television documentaries, and his writing has appeared in mainstream media such as the New York Times and the Financial Times. His recent lectures on Asia have been to the RAND Corporation, the Wilson Center and the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
